At 10pm tonight, a small film crew will gather in Selinsgrove PA. We’ll be coming from LA, NY, Boston and NH. We’ll spend the next week together, in a van, touring key swing states in the Midwest. We’ll be creating video portraits of women who support Barack Obama, and whose names happen to be Sarah. This project is called, “My Name Is Sarah.”
Today, we’re also launching the project’s Blog, which will be our central location for all information. Here you will find our daily reports on our progress, short video vignettes, and the guts of what we’re producing; the video portraits.
We’re asking women named Sarah/Sara to write in with their personal “Sarah Story:” Who they are, where they’re from, what they want for their country, and why they’re supporting Obama for President. These stories can be emailed to sarah.stories1 [at] gmail.com.
This is, essentially, is a marketing campaign geared toward women and men who are still undecided in their choice for president. To reach this audience, we need to build a buzz, starting with you. Here’s how you can help:
1) Email your friends and family about this project.
2) IMPORTANT - ask anyone you know named Sarah/Sara to write about their support for Barack Obama and we’ll post it to the “Sarah Stories” site:
3) Follow the making of “My Name Is Sarah” via the site/blog, twitter, or facebook
4) Wear a “My Name Is Sarah” T-shirt. (Proceeds help fund this project and anything beyond goes to the Obama campaign)
At the end of our production trip, we’ll create 5 videos for “The Sarah Series:” Sarah PA, Sarah, OH, Sarah IN, Sarah MI, and Sarah NH.
Thank you in advance for getting behind this project and passing it along to all the Sarahs you know.
We’ll keep you posted from the Road!
Yours,
- The “My Name Is Sarah” Crew
